We all have an Egoscue moment when destiny calls. Mine was in 2005 when a friend walked up to me and said, "I just found a book titled, 'Pain Free'. You should get trained in this Egoscue work and teach it to the community." She was a homeopathic practitioner with well developed intuition. I was too busy with my own business (teaching Stott Pilates) at the time...but she was very persistent.

Months later, I finally went to the library and ended up reading ʻPain Freeʼ in one sitting. I blurted out: "This is the missing link!" This work can fill in the gaps in my 25 years of fitness knowledge and experience in exercise, yoga, dance and Pilates. I had to be sure Pete Egoscue was for real. I searched the internet, and then ordered an old cassette tape series of his first book, 'The Egoscue Method of Health Through Motion', narrated by Pete. I already had the book, and I wanted to hear his voice.

Near the end of the cassette tape, Pete told the story about a boy named Max. He had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth, and basically grew up confined to a wheelchair. At the Egoscue Clinic, Pete had him try crawling back and forth on the floor like a baby. The next day Max's mother reported that his abdominal muscles were really sore. This was very good news! A dormant muscular function had been reawakened. After 3 weeks of doing his E-cise menu, Max walked for the first time in his life at age eleven.

"Now you know why I like my job. Now you know why I wrote this book", said Pete. I could hear it in his voice. He was genuine. I picked up the phone and signed up for PAS 1. I completed PAS 1 certification in July of 2006 and PAS II in October of 2008. I am currently in the Accredited Exercise Therapist (AET) program.

I have a BA degree in Psychology and Community Studies from UC Santa Cruz, and graduate work in Therapeutic Recreation from San Jose State University. My bio also includes a great deal of modern dance training. I performed with the Cabrillo Dance Ensemble in Calif. and with Ernest Morgan & Friends around the Big Island of Hawaii.

I taught creative movement in the schools of Santa Cruz County through the Santa Cruz Arts Council. I was director of the movement exploration program at Live Oak Elementary for five years, where I had 350 students. I also worked individually with learning disabled children, who all had skipped the developmental stage of crawling as a baby! I taught modern dance, body awareness, and senior fitness classes through Cabrillo College in CA for 5 years. I was an Ayurvedic massage therapist for 6 years & have also studied Maharishi Ayurveda for 20 years. I became a yoga teacher and taught asanas for 3 years at an Ayurvedic Health Spa in the middle of the golden corn fields of Iowa.

After completing Stott Pilates training, I started my Pilates Fitness business out of my home in 2000. I changed the business name to Blissful Fitness when I added Egoscue in 2006. My clientele is now 80% Egoscue.

I am very happy doing what I do in my intimate home studio, assisting clients in becoming aligned, pain free, and reaching their goals. My business is 100% referral. Thank you, Pete, again and again, and congrats on your fabulous new book! I wish you all peace in your mind, joy in your heart, and perfect posture.
